The Bhavans Culture

The Bhavan believes that there are elements in all cultures which transcend all barriers and knit people together.
Its ideal is Vasudhaiva Kudumbakam – “The World  is One Family”.
It’s motto is Aanobhadraah Kratavo  Yantu Vishwatah: let noble thoughts come to us from every side.

The Bhavans Faith

The founder looked upon the Bhavan as an “Adventure in faith”, a faith in India’s  past, present and future.
It is also a faith in India’s people who have a rich and unbroken cultural heritage.

The Bhavans Pride

True to its goal of revitalizing Dharma or the Moral Law in its three fold aspects of Truth, Love and Beauty- Satyam, Shivam and Sundaram.
Bhavan is ceaselessly striving to carry forward India’s ageless message – Faith, Self-Discipline and Dedication, Shradha, Samyama and Samarpana.

The Bhavans Tradition

The Bhavan’s Institutions are not meant merely to provide training, information or skill for better jobs but also to infuse educational institutions with a devotion to higher values, to introduce seriousness of purpose in the broader sense of translating them to life with dedication.  Development of intellectual life of the students is not enough. It must be harnessed to moral and spiritual development. Rajaji has emphasized that information should blossom into knowledge and knowledge should mature into wisdom, and that knowledge with out wisdom can be dangerous. Bhavan’s commitment is to impart value based education to the young and the old alike. The noble values we cherish are encoded in Bhagavat Gita*

Secretary’s Message

bhavans_secretaryDear Student
My philosophy on education, and on learning in particular, is an extended version of philosophy of life of W.H.Goethe, the German Philosopher
I believe – Learning in not fun; It shall not be a burden; It is a task, enjoy doing it.
If you want to enjoy learning you have to be systematic and work according to a plan-a definite time-table. I have a master plan for you. You can modify if need be

From Monday to Saturday
1. Sleep 11.00pm-5.00am 6 hrs
2. Reading Newspaper/TV viewing 6.30pm-7.30pm 1hr
3. To school and back 6.30am-6.30pm 12hrs
4. With books 5.00am-6.30am 1 ½ hrs
7.30pm-11.00pm 3 ½ hrs
And what do you do with your books
Read particular portions of the text book 2 times
Read your class notes 2 times
Try to write down what you have learnt at least once without reference.

All these must happen within 24 hrs for the time such portions are discussed in class.
And on Sundays and Second Saturdays revise your portions.
A suggestion to all of you is, never ever have an opportunity to say
1. I COULD HAVE MADE IT (DONE IT) for it would be meaningless to weep over lost opportunities. Do what you can do, now itself, for tomorrow or next moment will be a lost opportunity.
2. I SHOULD HAVE DONE IT! If you shouldn’t have done, then you should not have! It is not worth regretting afterwards.
Practice, feel confident and be comfortable throughout the year and ever after.

Prof. Sri. C Mohan Kumar, Secretary

Principal’s Message

Welcome dear parents and students to the new academic year 2020-2021. I am very excited to be your new principal at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Senior Secondary School, Kodunganoor. For the last two decades I have enjoyed serving in various reputed CBSE schools in India and abroad. Our school is one of the most prestigious schools under the aegis of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan which has more than 350 institutions all over the world.

As a principal, I believe the following components are on focus of a student- centered, highly successful school.

I will refer these often while making decisions that are in the best interests of our students.

At Bhavan’s , Kodunganoor our endeavour is to bring up “Gobal Citizens” upholding Indian culture, traditions and philosophy, in a most caring manner. Our school not only offers ‘Curriculam’ to the students but also takes due care in developing their, C – confidence, C -courage, C- common sense, C -communicative skill, C – computer skill, etc. which are considered highly essential ingredients to succeed in life. Our highly experienced teachers (ie, Parents at school) extract the hidden talent of each student in a caring, inspiring and supportive environment.

Parents are vital part of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan , Kodunganoor school community. Your contributions are invaluable to the school through volunteer time and support of school activities.

Thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to read my message. I look forward to working with you and developing a relationship that will assist in the growth of your child and progress of the school to the highest level.
